Born in Guadalajara, México, to a family of artists and art collectors, Claudia García was heavily inspired and influenced by her uncle that has dedicated more than 4 decades to the arts. García studied in the former “Academy of Pastics Arts of Monterrey” in the city where she was raised and has spent most of her life.
After pursing a career in Advertising and Marketing, including living in the United States, in 2006 Claudia engaged herself full time to her art, beginning with oil and then acrylics. She studied with the late Helen Van Wyk who encouraged her to develop her own particular and unique style. Now, Claudia’s works are distinctively hers and is often told “Without looking at your signature, I can say right away that you are the creator of that painting”.
Claudia García exhibits throughout the United States and México but also has a very loyal following throughout the world, and her works have been sold throughout the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Spain (including the Canary Islands), Italy, England, France, Germany, Turkey, Australia, Singapore, India, Israel and most recently Japan, making a total of more than 2,000 sold pieces.
“My purpose as an artist is to give my spectators/clients a feeling of innocence and peace, the remembrance of those beautiful years of our childhood full of magic and a little touch of color of my loved country.” – Claudia García
In this collection of traditional Mexican Folk Art styled paintings, Claudia García relays feelings of innocence and peace to the viewer, and takes us on a journey to reflect on those beautiful years of our childhood that were full of magic and wonder – all with a touch of color of her beloved country of Mexico.
