In addition to his smaller more “portable”works, River also has created elaborate murals and unique decor elements for his restaurant, The Bebedero, located in Charlottesville, VA. (The Bebedero was featured in the February Issue of TOROSIETE Magazine.) River has covered the walls and tabletops, menus and other features with his artwork. A master bartender specializing in rare Mezcal and Tequila, River’s artistry is a part of everything he does. If you’re lucky, you might even catch his Machete Dance live at the restaurant.
Originally from California, River’s unique style of painting and drawing using many mediums and techniques ranges from Urban Street Art, Surreal Art, and is heavily influenced also by his Mexican heritage with Chicano Art and Traditional Mexican Folk Art aspects. His works sometimes showcase the grotesque and he doesn’t steer clear of controversy, but that’s why we like him. His detail is extraordinary and often when you look closely you will find hidden images in his work. He also authors a comic strip “The Lowdown” which can be found on his website.
For his first Museum exhibition, we bring you a broad collection of his works titled “Violence & Grace” which explores the wide range of emotions that all are a part of life. Birth, Growth, Pain, Struggle, Love and Death.
Experience his exhibitions in two formats, our 3D Interactive Virtual Exhibition and our Interactive Exhibition at RIVER.TOROSIETE.COM.
Many Original works from River’s exhibition, plus other works not featured in the exhibition are available for sale in our Museum Store at SHOPRIVER.TOROSIETE.COM.
